This advanced program is aimed at Scrum Masters, Agile Coaches, Product Owners or Team Members who have been working in an agile context and wants to move to the next level of capability. Throughout several weeks participants will move to a professional level of coaching by developing skills and knowledge that covers advanced topics related to systemic coaching, team coaching, systems thinking and facilitation.

The program is designed to seamlessly interweave theoretical knowledge with hands-on experience in a safe, supported environment where collaboration and mutual learning are encouraged. Small cohorts (study groups) are formed for the duration of the program (and sometimes beyond), so new experiences can be shared, and feedback can be used to accelerate and embed the learning.

Content and Learning Objectives

The structure of this program is designed with two initial days of training, where theoretical topics and hands-on practice techniques are used to provide a safe learning environment. This is followed by a few weeks of regular working time, where participants can practise their newly learned skills, but with ongoing coaching support from the trainer and their program study group. The following two days of the program (days 3 and 4) are conducted similarly, with theoretical learning followed by opportunities to practise in a natural working environment. The final 2 days (days 5 and 6) is a workshop format and used to solidify everyone's learning and map-out their ongoing coaching development program.

There are many topics covered in this comprehensive program, some of which are:

  • What is coaching; systemic coaching, agile coaching, team coaching and beyond

  • Advanced team coaching techniques

  • Systems thinking and how to apply it to coaching

  • How to give and receiving feedback without the stress

  • Listening techniques

  • Coaching conversations and powerful questions

  • Coaching beyond the team

  • Conflict resolution & none violent communication techniques

  • How to deal with complexity and change

  • Understand the human response to change

  • Team motivation and team building techniques

This program is delivered using techniques from Accelerated Learning and Training for the Back of the Room which maximises the retention of the participants. This program is not a lecture format, where a teacher talks and participants listen, it is a fully immersive and interactive learning experience.

The structure is custom designed to fit the participant's unique needs and schedules. However, some typical patterns are as follows;

  • In-person: 6 x 1-day sessions, spread over several weeks

  • Online: 12 x 4-hour sessions, spread over several weeks, using Miro and Zoom

  • Hybrid: a combination of both in-person and online

  • Class size: max 12 people

  • Language: English

  • Public or Private training: private only

The sessions will mix theoretical training and coaching based on real-world scenarios.

Groups of 4-10 people are ideal, but a max of 12 participants is possible.
