Agile Fundamentals

In-person: 1 day

Agile Fundamentals

Online: 2 half-days

Course details

Agile is easily understood but difficult to apply! It requires changing habits and thinking differently about how daily work is completed. Therefore this interactive workshop is structured around multiple simulations in which the attendees collaborate in teams to experience the new topics being learned. The is a healthy mix of theoretical topics and hands-on experience, all conducted in a safe environment where learning from mistakes is encouraged.

Content and Learning Objectives

The Agile Fundamentals training begins by developing a deep understanding of Agile, focusing on the core pillars of agility and the accompanying principles. Understanding the principles that form the foundation of Agile is at least as important as understanding any practises or frameworks.

This class is delivered using techniques from Accelerated Learning and Training for the Back of the Room, which maximises the retention of the participants. This training is not a lecture format; a teacher talks, and participants listen. It is a fully immersive and interactive learning experience.

Practicalities

  • In-person: 1-day workshop

  • Online: 2 x half-day workshops, using Miro and Zoom

  • Class size: max 20 people

  • Language: English

  • Public or Private training: both

Who should attend

This Agile Fundamentals training is ideally suited towards teams or groups of colleagues who want to gain a deeper principle-based knowledge of agility and learn how to apply it to their working environment better. This includes teams who have been practising an agile method, such as Scrum, for some time but are not realising the benefits that they hoped for or have stalled in their evolution. Leaders and managers also find this course very insightful due to the focus on principles and how to apply them, rather than focusing on just process or practises.
