Certified Product Owner® - with coaching
Duration: 28 hours over several weeks
Product Owners are not just User Story writers! A Product Owner must consider themselves someone who runs a business and is responsible for the return on investment of their products or services. They need to have a deep knowledge of optimally working with teams and stakeholders to achieve the most effective business outcomes.
This Certified Scrum Product Owner® course combines training and context-specific coaching in the participant's working environment. It is approved by the Scrum Alliance and results in a Certified Scrum Product Owner® (CSPO®) certification.
Unlike the standard public 2-day training class, this certification-through-coaching delivers more value with double the contact time with a CEC coach, running over several weeks. Real-world scenarios are explored during this time, and participants receive coaching support. This ensures the participants have learned the Product Owner theory and put real situations specific to their context into practice.
Content and Learning Objectives
The following topics are covered during this CSPO® (with coaching) program:
A fundamental understanding of the values, principles and practices of Scrum and how to make them work
Balance the needs of multiple stakeholders
Learn how to create a product vision and strategy
Manage your portfolio and be able to forecast time and cost
Being able to manage various techniques for forming and maintaining your product goal and backlog
Understand your customers so you can deliver the next most important piece of value
Once the program is completed, the participants will receive a CSPO® Certification from the Scrum Alliance, assuming the online written exam from the Scrum Alliance has been passed.
This program is delivered using techniques from Accelerated Learning and Training for the Back of the Room which maximises the retention of the participants. This program is not a lecture format, where a teacher talks and participants listen, it is a fully immersive and interactive learning experience.
The structure is custom designed to fit the participant's unique needs and schedules. However, some typical patterns are as follows;
Online: 7 x 4-hour sessions, spread over several weeks.
In-person: 4 x 1-day sessions, also spread over several weeks
Hybrid: a combination of both in-person and online
The sessions will mix theoretical training and coaching based on real-world scenarios.
This program runs privately within an organisation; it is not run as a public course.
Groups of 4-10 people are ideal, but a max of 12 participants is possible.
